Whether it's a business or everyday life, it's important to keep in mind that everything someone or something does will affect the future of the Earth. The butterfly effect is a theory that says a butterfly flapping its wings can lead to the formation of a tornado because of the butterfly displacing the air. The butterfly already caused the tornado, should the butterfly stop flying because of it? Of course not. It can fly to a less windy area. For us, a good example is a plastic water bottle. If a case of 16 is purchased and only 15 are recycled, the manufacturer needs to create another water bottle to complete the case. The bottle that wasn't recycled is now sitting unused in a landfill, and a new bottle is created. If this cycle repeats, case after case of water will need to be created needlessly. Most things can be reused nowadays. Search engines and AI are beautiful because you can look up every item and find a way to recycle it.
