Unscented soaps are being developed with pH levels that can be chosen by an individual if best for their water supply.
Because of the taxing process that is filtering and distributing water, different municipal supplies may bear water with different pH values, some more acidic and others more basic. Soap is used with running water from municipal supplies and can be manufactured to have a transparent, advertised pH value.
